John McCain delivered a moving concession speech. He was gracious in defeat. He is a heroic figure, a remarkable man. Americans can be proud they could choose between two such extraordinary men as John McCain and Barack Obama.
The New York Times reports: Barack Hussein Obama was elected the 44th president of the United States on Tuesday, sweeping away the last racial barrier in American politics with ease as the country chose him as its first black chief executive.
Obama has already won 338 electoral college votes – he needed 270 to be elected president — while McCain has 155.
This video shows McCain talking to journalists who travelled with him throughout the campaign.
