The woman with whom Singapore’s outgoing Speaker of Parliament had an affair has been named. Michael Palmer resigned today as MP and Speaker because of his affair with the woman who worked for the People’s Association.
She has been named as Laura Ong. It looks like the Straits Times was the first to name her followed by Today. The People’s Association has said she has resigned.
I stopped following the reports for a while, but the social media won’t let me. Here’s the story in tweets.
PA confirms that Laura Ong, constituency director, has resigned. She is understood to be the woman whom Michael Palmer had an affair with.

Pity Laura Ong and family for being named in the media, but the newspapers will do what they must to make people buy.
